<p>PURPOSE:To produce dried moldable red mud of 20-25wt% moisture content inexpensively by adding chemical treating agents which generate heat energy to red mud and agitating and kneading the mixture at 200-500rpm for 4-10min. CONSTITUTION:Agitating vanes 2 of a lower stage which are made into propeller type and agitating vanes 3 of an upper stage which are made into flat type are crossed into cruciform type and are mounted to an agitator. When the vanes are rotated at 200-500rpm speed, the contents in the machine are reduced in sizes and are increased in surface areas. As the contents are agitated and circulated, the water contained in the red mud is evaporated extremely effectively. The reaction with chemical treating agents such as acids, quicklime, halogen or the like to be added is effected uniformly. If the temp. in the machine is maintained at about 100-120 deg.C or higher, the drying is completed quickly in 4- 10min.</p> |
