PURPOSE:To introduce smoothly secondary air certainly without interfering a mixed gas each other by introducing the secondary air introduced into a cylinder in the same turning direction as the mixed gas above it. CONSTITUTION:An intake valve 5 and an exhaust valve 6 are positioned, being shifted in the opposite sides to each other from th axis X-X in the forward and rearward direction and the mixed gas introduced through said intake valve 5 is caused to be turned in one direction within a cylinder 2. A secondary air introduction opening 7 is opened to said cylinder 2 in a tangent direction, and the secondary air introduced through said opening 7 is caused to be turned within said cylinder 2 in the same direction as the mixed gas. Accordingly, since the mixed gas layer in the upper portion, the air layer in the lower portion and the relatively thin mixed gas layer in the inter mediate portion are formed in said cylinder 2, desirable laminar combustion can be carried out. |
