The invention relates to a chain conveyor with batten-shaped links, in which each chain link is designed as a single piece and includes a plate which has on one side only an eye-shaped hinge with a wider upper outside edge and a narrower lower inside edge and on the other side has a pair of tongues of equal size which are arranged symmetrically opposite one another about the central line of the plate and which each have a hole for receiving and fastening a peg for connection with the hinge of an adjacent chain link.
