NEW MATERIAL:A fatty acid ester of tropolone shown by the formula (R is 1-22C alkyl). USE:A beautifying agent having fully satisfactory shelf stability and stability, showing improved beautifying effect and anti-sunburn effect free from side effect not good to the human body. It is absorbed in the skin of human body, hydrolyzed with esterase into tropolone, which shows strong inhibitory action on tyrosinase activity. PROCESS:Tropolone is reacted with a fatty acid chloride in the presence of pyridine, to give a compound shown by the formula. |
