PURPOSE:To save energy, by cooling plural engines through a specific heat exchanger, that is, by cooling the pure water heat exchanger of the marine engines with seawater, controlling the driving of an electric motor driven centrifugal pump through temperature of pure water, sucking the seawater from a bottom location and discharging the seawater to an upper location through the electric motor driven centrifugal pump. CONSTITUTION:A pure water circulating circuit, comprising pure water circulating pumps 4, 5, temperature regulating valves 9, 10, feed water manifold 15, pure water heat exchanger 3 and suction water manifold 14, is connected to a ship propelling engine 1 and generator engine 2 at anchor. The pure water heat exchanger 3 is operated in such a manner that cooling seawater is sucked from a water intake port 11, provided in the bottom location of a ship, and discharged, after cooling, to a discharge port 12, located near the waterline, through an electric motor driven centrifugal pump 13 controlled with its driving by temperature switches 16, 17. At low temperature of pure water, even if the motor driven centrifugal pump is stopped, a temperature rise of engine cooling pure water causes the seawater to perform natural convection from the water intake port 11 to the discharge port 12. |
