NEW MATERIAL:A thiourea compound of formulaI[(Xn) are H, halogen, trifluoromethyl, methyl or nitro; (Ym) are H, halogen or methyl; Z is a group of formula II or III; (n) is an integer 0-3; (m) is an integer 1-4; X and Y may be the same or different when (n) or (m) is >=2]and a salt thereof. EXAMPLE:N-2, 6-Dimethyl-4-( 3-chloro-5-trifluoromethylpyridin- 2-yloxy )phenyl- N'-tert-butylthiourea. USE:An insecticide and acaricide having controlling action on injurious insects and mites. PROCESS:A compound of formula IV is reacted with tert-butylamine of formula V at 0-100 deg.C in a solvent, e.g. diethyl ether, to give the compound of formulaI.
