Interceptor vessel for liquid effluents - incorporates integral discharge pipe used for air agitation and aspiration of contents

A vessel for trapping suspended solids from effluent streams comprises a two-compartment vessel, sealed with a loose-fitting lid, having bases in each compartment sloping to a common discharge point beneath the inter-compartment partition. Effluent enters at one end of the vessel and clarified liquid overflows from the opposite end. The discharge procedure for the vessel is to agitate it by injection of compressed air through a fixed discharge pipe and subsequently to aspirate the homogenised contents. Used for the interception of solids in effluent systems; the device may be emptied in an odour-free manner without removing the lid.
