(A) Elastic (co)polymer is blended with an antioxidant mixt. comprising (B) diphenyl amine deriv. and/or (C) phenol deriv. opt. coupled chemically with elastic (co)polymer as portions of the molecular chains and (D) polyalkylene ether glycol having ave. mole wt. of 100-5000 to provide a compsn. having high resistance against thermal ageing. (A) is typically polybutadiene, polychloroprene, polyisoprene, butadiene/acrylonitrile copolymer, butadiene/styrene copolymer, isoprene/acrylonitrile copolymer, isoprene/butadiene/ acrylintrile terpolymer. (B) is typically diphenyl amine, p-amino- diphenyl amine, N-isopropylamino-diphenyl amine, N-4-anilinophenyl acrylamide or N-4-anilinophenol benzoic acid. (C) is typically phenol, 2,6-di-t-butyl phenol or 2,6-di-t-butyl cresol. The coupled (B) or (C) has typically a repeating unit of formula (I) or (II). The combined use of (B) and/or (C) and (D) improves synergetical resistance against ageing at higher temps.
