PURPOSE:To detect the amount of eccentricity of the Nichrome wire readily, by making the Nichrome wire a high temperature state by electric conduction, simultaneously applying a high voltage between the Nichrome wire and a metal pipe, thereby judging the presence or absence of insulation breakdown of insulation powder. CONSTITUTION:Insulators 5, which support terminals 4, are coupled into both ends of the metal pipe 1. The terminals 4 are connected to the end parts of the Nichrome wire. Power is supplied from an AC power source 7, and the Nichrome wire is made to be the high temperature state by the electric conduction. A sensor 6' of a temperature measuring device 6 is contacted with a part of the outer surface of the metal pipe 1, and the attainment of a specified temperature is detected. The Nichrome wire is enclosed in the insulating powder 3 which is filled in the metal pipe 1. A withstanding voltage tester 8 is connected between one terminal 4 and the metal pipe 1. The insulation breakdown voltage of the insulating powder 3 is detected by the tester 3. By measuring the insulation breakdown voltage, the insulation distance, i.e. the amount of eccentricity of the Nichrome wire can be detected very easily. |
