PURPOSE:To prevent the self-sustained vibration of a damper and improve its operating properties, by providing a chamber between a casing and the damper so that stable pressure acts on the downstream surface of the damper because of the pressure of the chamber. CONSTITUTION:An air conditioner casing 1 is deformed so that a chamber 4 is defined between the casing and the front part of a damper 3-1. Since air which passes through between the damper 3-1 and the casing 1 stays temporarily in the chamber 4, pressure nearly equal to that on the upstream surface of the damper is caused in the chamber to act on the downstream surface of the damper to stabilize the distribution of pressure on the front and rear parts of the damper. For that reason, the damper 3-1 stably stops even at a minute angle so that self- sustained vibration is prevented. Since the pressure caused in the chamber 4 is utilized to open the damper 3-1, its operating properties are improved. |
