<p>Pill dispenser mechanism (10) in which a multilayered compartment is releasably attachable to a receptacle (C) for pills (P) in such a way that the pills (P) may be selectively advanced into one compartment layer (11), then by selective advancement of one of the compartment layers (12) transfer each pill (P) from the first compartment layer (11) into a discharge compartment (13) to permit sequential recovery of pills therefrom. In order to accommodate different sized pills, the compartment layers may be provided with different sized openings (22) and (27) to conform to the substantial size and configuration of a pill (P). Electrical sensing contact arms (C1, C2 and C3) may be associated with the compartment layers to sense for the purpose of recording the movement of a pill between one or more, or a combination of both, compartments.</p> |
