The object of the invention is mainly to develop worm-driven winch drums in order to lower the manufacturing and material costs, in particular for hand winches for the occasional lifting and lowering of loads of medium weight, e.g. spare wheels. In this invention, both flanged wheels of the winch drum are additionally designed as a worm-wheel pair. Furthermore, a single rectangular strip of flat material, by simple forming-bending and punching, serves as a support for the worm, the worm-wheel winch drum, and as a bracket for fastening the winch. The diagrammatic representation according to Fig. 1 reveals the construction, the configuration of the winch drum at the same time as a worm wheel and the support of the worm in the rectangular strip of flat material formed into a bearing trough. <IMAGE>
