PURPOSE:To obtain a plastic electrode which is resistant to active material and has long life by specifying the weight ratio of thermoplastic resin such as polyethylene to carbon black and graphite in a range of 45:55-50:50, and carbon black to graphite in a range of 3:52-10:45 in a plastic electrode. CONSTITUTION:The weight ratio of carbon black (CB) and graphite (G) to the thermoplastic resin such as polyethylene (PE) is specified in a range of 45:55-50:50 and that of G to CB is specified in a range of 3:52-10:45. If the amount of CB is reduced and G is increased in the composition ratio of PE:CB:G in a carbon plastic electrode, electric resistance is increased, and on the other hand, bromine permeability in the electrode is decreased to increase performance. However, if electric resistance is extremely increased, overvoltage of charge-discharge in positive and negative electrodes is increased and performance is decreased. Therefore, the optimum composision ratio is experimentally obtained in terms of overvoltage and bromine permeability. |
