PURPOSE:To permit free controlling of the width over the entire part of a rolling roll by forming a rib-like projection in the central part of the arbor of the roll, disposing sleeves on both sides thereof spacially from the arbor and providing wedge members in the clearances. CONSTITUTION:In a rolling roll of universal mills or the like, a rib-like projection 3 is formed in the central part of an arbor 1, and annular sleeves 5 are provided via adjusting plates 4 on both sides thereof spacially 6 from the arbor 1. A pair of wedge members 7 are disposed in the spaces 6 and are tightened in the direction of approaching to each other by using bolts 8 and nuts 9 penetrating through the projection 3. The sleeves 5 and the plates 4 are made into one body by the wedge effect thereof, and the arbor 1 is mounted in one body to the sleeves 5 and the plates 4. If the sleeves 5 and the plates 4 are changed, the rolls meeting various sizes are easily obtained and the fundamental unit of the roll is improved. |
