A device for moving rod-shaped stock, such as tubes, shafts, wire or the like, in the direction of its longitudinal axis, especially as a draw-in or draw-out device for rough-turning and/or trueing machines, has, in particular, four fed units (1) which each possess a housing (2) and in which, in a plane perpendicular to the axis (6') of the stock (6), at least three, preferably four pressure rollers (11) arranged distributed uniformly about the axis (6') of the stock (6), subjected to pressure in the direction of this axis (6'), each driven by a drive motor (10) and moving the stock (6) are mounted on one end of driving and pressing units (3) which are pivotable in synchronism relative to the housing (2) by means of a force-transmission ring (3) and drawbars (15). Instead of two deeply indented running tracks which are left behind by the known pressure rollers and over which these sometimes roll many times, there is left behind on the stock (6) a multiplicity of running tracks, on which the material is subjected to less damage, with the result that it is now possible, for example during the subsequent rough-turning of the material, to obtain an article having a homogeneous surface by means of only a small chip removal. <IMAGE>
