Series connected solar cells comprise a metal film substrate 1, e.g. stainless steel or Fe-Ni-Cr alloy, an insulating film 2 of heat resistant resin, e.g. polyimide, or of chromium oxide, electrodes 3, 5 and an amorphous silicon film 4.
