The cam- and pneumatically-controlled palper blower is provided for sheet separators in feeders of, for example, printing presses. The aim of the invention is to improve such palper blowers in general, and particularly as regards their maintenance, and to allow them to be interchanged rapidly without complication. In addition, it should be possible to regulate the holding force of the palper blower on the sheet stack independently of the speed of the press and of the stream of blowing air for blowing the underside of the sheets. According to the invention, a pneumatic cylinder is arranged insertably in a housing which can be pivoted about a fixed axis, and the blowing air is fed directly from the air diffuser to the blower. The pneumatic cylinder is insertable from below, can be locked by means of a resilient pin which can also be in the form of a shearing element, and the elements for displaying the height position are fixed underneath the pneumatic cylinder on the piston rod. The field of application is limited to sheet separators of feeding machines. <IMAGE>
