PURPOSE:To enable maintaining of a steady and high level vibration attenuation in a wide temperature range, by a method wherein a brake noise proofing mechanism, including a plurality of a plastic resin layers being different in vibration attenuation-temperature properties, is cladded to a backing of a friction pad. CONSTITUTION:Laminal polypropylene P and polyvinyl chloride e, which are sticked together, are adhered to a backing 2 of a friction pad 1. Attenuation properties of a member E, in which only the polyvinyl chloride is adhered between the nip formed by steel plates, is maximized at about 60 deg.C, and decreases at a temperature of higher than 60 deg.C. The member P, in which only the polypropylene is adhered between the nip formed by the steel plates, is high in a heat resistant temperature, and therefore, it is excellent in the attenuation properties at a high-temperature range. If attenuation of, for example, a shim A is represented by a loss factor, it is about 4-6-fold a shim B of a conventional product, and besides, a steady attenuation may be maintained in a range of from a low temperature to a high temperature. |
