PURPOSE:To permit positioning of a shift block of rolling mills with a simple device in the stage of roll changing as well by coupling or uncoupling a keeper plate fixed to the shift block to or from a metallic chock. CONSTITUTION:In rolling mills, a keeper plate 4 is fixed to a shift block 3 by means of bolts 11. In the stage of rolling, the plate 4 is coupled to a metallic chock 2, and is made movalbe in the axial direction of a roll 1 simultaneously with a metallic chock 2 by a moving cylinder 7. In the stage of changing of the roll, the plate 4 is coupled to the groove provided on a housing 8 side in a roll changing position, and the chock 2 is uncoupled from the block 3 and the position of the block 3 with respect to the housing 8 is fixed in a home position. Thus the operation in the stage of roll changing is made easy and the construction around the blcok 3 is simplified. |
