The invention relates to a method for the transmission, with signalling dependability or non-dependability, and redundant processing of commands or messages by means of a switch-over and monitoring device. It consists in that data having the same information content are supplied to redundant data processing channels and are separately processed, that a monitoring device establishes whether all redundant data processing channels are operating, that when a data processing channel fails, the switch-over device switches from a series circuit outputting commands or messages with signalling dependability to a parallel circuit outputting commands or messages with signalling non-dependability and that a corresponding message is output. <IMAGE>
