The device is for holding together two cover halves (1) and a gable (2) in an appts. box, and comprises partly a tongued and grooved union (3) between each cover half and the gable, whereby the gable holds the cover halves at a specific distance from each other, and partly a snap union(4) between the gable and the corresponding cover half to maintain the gable in tongued and grooved connection. The tongued and grooved union (3) comprises partly an edge part in the gable, and partly a projection provided with a channel in the cover half (1). The snap union (4) comprises partly a sprung arm on the gable (2), provided with a hook-shaped projection, and partly a recess in the cover half (1) in which the projection snaps when the tongued and grooved union is located in its bottom position.
