<p>PURPOSE:To detect the scanning direction and the passage of a character, by inputting the link of black cells to a link detecting circuit for every column to discriminate the link logic and eliminating a black cell linked to no black cells as a dirt and cutting characters horizontally. CONSTITUTION:The control of nXm-number of cells of a sensor 6 and the binary output from a binary circuit 7 are inputted to a link detecting circuit 16, and the output of the circuit 16 is outputted to a horizontal cutting circuit 10 and a scanning direction detecting circuit 14. The circuit 16 detects a dirt on a basis of the white or black state of cells adjacent to a black cell and discriminates the dirt in 2X2 partial matrixes successively when the one-bit dirt should be removed. Thus, even if the dirt exists in the space between characters, the dirt is eliminated.</p> |
