PURPOSE:To control the level of molten steel in a mold over a wide range by detecting said level, comparing the same with a reference level, and controlling the stopper of a tundish when the deviation thereof is small and a drawing speed when the deviation is large. CONSTITUTION:The detection signal of the level of the molten steel in a mold 3 from a detector 4 is inputted to a deviation monitoring circuit. The detection signal and a level set value Lset are compared and when the deviation is small, the same is outputted to an arithmetic part 16 for controlling a tundish and when the deviation is large, the same is outputted to an arithmetic part 17 for controlling a drawing speed connected to a motor controlling part 13. Then the part 16 calculates the opening of the stopper of the tundish that gives the charging flow rate of the molten steel meeting the drawing rate of an ingot 9 in accordance with the calculation equations incorporating the level signal from the detector 14, the stroke detection signal from a detector 7 and the level set value, and outputs the same to an adder 18. A drawing speed detector 12 is connected to a feed forward controller 19 for the drawing speed. The conroller 19 outputs the correcting signal for the drawing speed to the adder 18 in accordance with the signal from the detector 12. Thereafter, the signal from the adder 18 is outputted to a control part 18 for servocontrol motor which controls the stroke amount of the stopper 4 of the tundish. |
