Attached to the upper end of a table frame (1), constructed as a hollow column, is a support board (16), on which telescopically extensible guide rails (3) are mounted. Two table top halves (4) can be pulled apart via these guide rails (3) to a predetermined extent. An additional board (5), which is constructed as a roller shutter and consists of a multiplicity of slats (17) attached to a backing material, can be stored in the hollow column-type table frame (1). When not in use, the additional board (5) can thus be rolled up to form a relatively small unit and stored in a relatively thin table frame (1). <IMAGE>
