PURPOSE:To cast a thin sheet stably irrespectively of thicknesses by providing a water-cooled roll, a tundish which is supplied with molten metal continuously and is immersed with the lower half of the water-cooled roll in the molten metal therein, and a water-cooled rolling reduction roll which rotates on th opposite side of the water-cooled roll and is adjustable of the spacing from the water- cooled roll. CONSTITUTION:As a water-cooled roll 1 rotates in an arrow direction, the molten metal 5 in a tundish 4 in contact with the surface of said roll is cooled continuously by the surface of the roll 1, and forms a solidified shell 9. The shell 9 is rolled and molded to a thin sheet 11 between a water-cooled rolling reduction roll 10 and the roll 1. In this case, the thickness of the sheet 11 is controllable by controlling the rotating speed of the single roll 1 and controlling the spacing between the roll 10 and the roll 1 properly. The produced sheet 11 is delivered by guiding rolls 12 to the next stage. |
