In a method of measuring a pressure, in particular of the stationary or virtually stationary pressure of a fluid, with a pressure-loaded measuring piston which is guided in a cylinder and is connected to a load-measuring device, it is proposed that the piston be guided without contact in the cylinder by means of hydrostatic or pneumatic lubrication by a separating fluid which is supplied under pressure and has a higher pressure than the fluid to be measured, in which arrangement the fluid producing the pressure is used as the separating fluid and is increased in pressure before being directed into the cylinder, or another fluid, such as, for example, a liquid or a gas is used as the separating fluid. The method is preferably used in the gravimetric analysis of the quantity of mineral-oil product in a fixed tank, preferably in a large tank. A corresponding device with a measuring piston guided in a vertical cylinder provides for pockets for the build-up of hydrostatic or pneumatic lubrication by a separating fluid to be provided in the wall of piston or cylinder and to be connected to a fluid-supply system, and for the piston to be supported via a supporting element on a measurement transducer.
