A detachable roof (1) for a vehicle (3) consists of a front and rear roof part (7, 8) and a support element (17) arranged between these. The roof parts (7, 8) and the support element (17) are each connected independently of one another to the vehicle chassis (2). In the end regions (9, 10) facing one another, the front and the rear roof part (7, 8) cover the support element (17) at least over a part of its length (19) in the longitudinal direction (18) of the vehicle.
