PURPOSE:To supply toner without pursuing an operator with uneasiness unnecessarily by inhibiting the display showing that the toner runs short even if a toner density detecting circuit outputs a signal for indicating a deficiency in toner density until the toner density reaches a prescribed value after the operator supplies the toner. CONSTITUTION:When a toner bottle is replaced, the number of times of copying from the replacement to toner end display is set to 25 automatically to inhibit toner deficiency display after the replacement. Further, when the output of a toner density sensor exceeds a prescribed level, a display counter is reset automatically to, for example, 5 and only when a toner density detecting circuit outputs a signal indicating a deficiency in toner density, the counter goes down, thereby performing toner end display when the counted value reaches 0. In normal operation, the display counter is reset to 5 momentarily. |
