<p>A gas turbine engine intake comprising an engine air inlet and a circular cross-section circular generally mushroom shaped centre body having an apertured wall extending around its largest diameter portion. The apertures in the wall are so dimensioned as to coalesce any small liquid droplets flowing over the upstream face of the centre body into larger droplets. The thus formed larger droplets are launched from the centre body by being tripped by a step immediately downstream of the apertured wall. The aperatures are dimensioned such that each launched droplet is of such a mass that it follows a trajectory avoiding the engine air inlet.</p> |
