<p>PURPOSE:To improve utilization efficiency of th adsorbent in such a way that a specifically shaped conical trapezoid flow direction shifting body is arranged in a vessel of adsorbent to adsorb evaporated fuel, and flow and exhalation of evaporated fuel are smoothed. CONSTITUTION:A conical trapezoid shaped flow direction shifting plate 14 which has its diameter increased as it is directed upwards is embedded in the lower position of the end part of an evaporating fuel intake pipe 12 in an activated charcoal layer 4. This shifting plate 14 is formed such that its apex angle alpha is 60 deg.-120 deg., the ratio S1/S2 i.e. the ratio of cross-sectional area S1 at the maximum diametral end part to cross-sectional area S2 of adsorbent layer in the vessel is 0.4-0.6, the ratio a/b i.e. the ratio of distance (a) between said maximum diametral end part and the upper end of the adsorbent stratum to distance (b) between the maximum diametral end part and the side end of the adsorbent layer is more than 0.8, wherein the distance (a) is selected to be shorter than the length g+b which is obtained by adding the distance (b) to the length (g) in the axial direction in the adsorbent layer in the evaporated fuel intake pipe.</p> |
