PURPOSE:To improve both recording sensitivity and S/N in a reproduction mode, by using a thin film in which metallic or metalloid ultrafine grains are coagulated with numbers of gaps to a recording medium. CONSTITUTION:A dense metallic or metalloid thin film 4 showing proper reflectance to readout laser light is vapor-deposited on a substrate 1 in the form of a reflecting layer. Then a thin film 2 consisting of a coagulated matter of metallic or metalloid ultrafine grains and having laser light absorbing properties is formed on the film 4. Furthermore, a protecting layer 5 is provided on the film 2. Thus the laser light absorptivity of a recording layer is extremely improved with high reflectance secured at a recording hole part. As a result, recording is possible with a small amount of recording power and reading is possible with a large S/N. |
