发明名称 LIQUID CRYSTAL DISPLAY ELEMENT
摘要 PURPOSE:To decrease the reflected light from transparent electrode patterns by selecting the optical film thickness of a transparent electrode layer of which the refractive index changes in the thickness direction at the specific times the product of designed wavelengths and optional integers. CONSTITUTION:An electrode substrate 1 having transparent electrodes 3 which are disposed as at least one electrode is constituted. The transparent electrodes 3 disposed on a transparent substrate 2 are so disposed that the refractive index thereof changes continuously or stepwise in the thickness direction thereof and if the reflective index of the electrodes 3 is defined as n (d) and the geometrical film thickness thereof as d1, the optical film thickness of the electrode 3 is so determined as to satisfy the conditions of the equations (I) (where the lambda0 in the equation is a designed wavelength and N is an optional positive integer), whereby reflection is prevented effectively. If the refractive index of the substrate 2 in figure is defined as n0, the refractive index on the substrate 2 side of the electrodes 3 as n1, the refractive index on the liquid crystal 4 side as n2, and the refractive index of the liquid crystal 4 as nLc, reflection is prevented satisfactorily by providing the relations n0<n1, n2<n1, nLc<n2.
