PURPOSE:To manufacture steel with enhanced lubricity and heat resistance by dissolving sulfur in a liq. mixture of an aromatic hydrocarbon with a paraffin hydrocarbon, adding a small amount of an amine to the soln. to prepare a treating liq., and immersing a steel surface in the treating liq. heated to a specified temp. CONSTITUTION:Sulfur is dissolved in a liq. mixture of an aromatic hydrocarbon such as pseudocumene with a paraffin hydrocarbon such as n-dodecane, and the soln. is charged into a reaction oil vessel and heated to 140 deg.C- a temp. below the b.p. of the liq. mixture in an Ar atmosphere. A small amount of an amine such as n-butylamine as a sulfurizing accelerator is added to the heated soln. and agitated to prepare a treating liq. Steel heated to the temp. of the treating liq. in an Ar atmosphere is immersed in the treating liq. to carry out oil sulfurization at the low temp. Thus, the wear resistance as well as the lubricity, scuffing resistance, seizing resistance, etc. is remarkably enhanced. |
