PURPOSE:To distinguish a special mail from an ordinary mail surely with a simple constitution, by counting a detection signal from a pattern detection section. CONSTITUTION:A light from a mail 9 is made incident to a photoelectric conversion section 13 and a binary coded signal is outputted from a terminal R for blue color and from a terminal GB for blue or green colors. An output signal at the terminal R is inputted to a special derivery mail postage stamp reading circuit 14 and an output signal of the terminal GB is inputted to an ordinary mail postage stamp reading circuit 15. A counter 19 counts the number of ordinary mail postage stamps and display of charge amount such as charge amount print. The output of the counter 19 is ORed with the output of the circuit 14 at an OR gate 20 and its output becomes an express mail signal. |
