PURPOSE:To improve the efficiency of encoding by obtaining the respective difference values among plural decoded picture element values which are near encoding objective picture elements and making as predictive value itself to be a decoded value when the difference value are in the prescribed condition. CONSTITUTION:Input picture elements are divided into two groups and as for the first group of picture elements (marked white circle in figure) X1, the predic tive value of the picture elements x1 is made by using encoded . decoded picture elements h, i and g and as for the second group of the picture elements ( marked black circle in figure) x2, the predictive value of x2 is made by using the encoded . decoded picture elements of four first groups (white circle) a-d positioning up-and-down, right-and-left. Next by using six picture elements a-f as encoded . decoded picture elements near the picture elements x2 the difference values, a-b, c-d, a-e, c-e, b-f and c-f are counted so as to examine whether or not the prescribed condition is secured. When the condition isn't secured, the quantization . encoding of predictive errors is executed and the code which means a quantizing predictive error is transmitted to a decoder side from a encoder side. When the condition is secured, the code isn't transmit ted and the predictive value itself is set as the decoded value. |
