PURPOSE:To trap a mist more favorably and to contrive to enhance mist-cooling efficiency and productivity, by a method wherein fins provided on a heat-transmitting pipe for conducting a heat-transmitting medium exchanging heat with a mist are provided with a corrugated parts on the pipe side, in a heat exchanger for cooling a mist. CONSTITUTION:The fins 2 in a heat exchanger are formed by spirally winding a belt form fin member 5 around the heat-transmitting pipe 1. When winding the fin member 5, the corrugated prts 6 are formed at the pipe side of the member 5, providing the fins 2 for the pipe 1. When a mist-containing gas flow is introduced orthogonally to the heat-transmitting pipe 1 as indicated by arrows 3, the mist flowing straightly collides wit side surfaces of the corrugated parts 6 formed in the fins 2 on the pipe 1 side, so that the mist is effectively taped on the side surfaces of the fins 2. In addition, even when a belt form fin member 5 having a large width is wound around the heat-transmitting pipe 1 to obtain a large fin surface area, the tension generated on the tip part side of the fins is rapidly reduced. |
