PURPOSE:To reduce the depth of a box frame and elongate struts of an upper frame work while enableing the upper frame work to be contained in the box frame to thereby enhance convenience in use, by a method wherein strut-encasing boxes are detachably engaged by sinking into the four corners of a bottom plate of a box fame for a sunken KOTATSU with an upper fame work contained in the box frame. CONSTITUTION:In the box frame structue for a sunken KOTATSU, four side plates 1 and a bottom plate 2 are assembled into an open-top angular box form to constitute a main body A of the box frame, notces 3 are formed by cutting away the four corner parts of the bottom plate 2, and open-top strut-encasing boxes 4 are detachably engaged by sinking into the notches 3. The strut-encasing box 4 is formed from a plastic or the like, an outwardly directed flange is provided at the peripheral edge of the top opening of the box 4, and the flange is supported by engaging with the bottom plate. The struts of the upper frame work are fitted into the boxes 4 when containing the upper frame work into the box frame, so that the height of the upper frame work can be larger than the depth of the box frame. |
