PURPOSE:To reduce the redundancy for each picture element and to simplify the signal processing procedure, by transmitting the binary digital signals showing the picture elements to be recorded and the picture elements not to be recorded from the transmitter side. CONSTITUTION:The picture signals given from a scanner 36 are amplified 37 and applied to a threshold circuit 38. The picture signal sampling pulses given from a pulse generator 35 are applied to a threshold switch 39 to obtain the threshold voltage whose threshold levels are successively switched repetitively. The threshold voltage given from the switch 39 is applied to the circuit 38, and at the same time the picture signals given from an amplifier 37 are applied to the circuit 38. As a result, the circuit 38 produces the output voltage when the picture signal is set at a level higher than the threshold level. Thus the digital picture signals are obtained to show the picture elements to be recorded and the picture elements not to be recorded. These digital picture signals are read out of a counter 45 and transmitted to a signal receiver. |
