PURPOSE:To eliminate the need for converting mechanical angles into electrical angles and thereby to simplify the entire process by a method wherein torque controlling is performed by means of an angle detector in a multiple-pole synchronous motor yielding voltages corresponding to the number of poles. CONSTITUTION:An angle detector 2 constituted of a 6-pole variable reluctance type rotating transducer is directly coupled with the rotor of a synchronous motor 1 of a 3-phase/6-pole structure type or the like. The angle detector 2 yields voltages in proportion to sinP/2.theta, cosP/.theta, where theta is the angle of rotor rotation, and synchronized with the number of poles p. The voltages thus obtained are supplied to a decision circuit 3 wherein the phasing is determined of the current in the stator winding, and the result is used, together with signals from a torque directing circuit 4 determining winding current absolute values, to supply winding currentsI1-I3 via a feeding circuit 5. Accordingly, the empolyment of the angle detector 2 eliminates the need for the conversion of mechanical angles into electrical angles and thereby greatly simplifies the controlling process. |
