PURPOSE:To decrease the time required for the maching and reduce the material loss, by a method wherein header maching is performed in place of cutting work using a lathe. CONSTITUTION:A metal rod A' of magnetic material having small diameter is extruded or cut to a prescribed dimension. Header maching is performed to one side of the metal rod A' so that a plunger body with intermediate portion being a larger diameter portion A1 and both sides thereof being smaller diameter portions A2, A3. Outer diameter of the metal rod A' is equal to or greater than outer diameter A4 after the header maching. The metal rod A' is extruded to the header for producing larger diameter portion and smaller diameter portion just before the header maching, and cut to a required length and then conveyed to the header. |
