PURPOSE:To make the exposure quantity of an original proper in case of copying operation, by providing a photodetector opposed to the original, in the vicinity of a short focus lens array, relatively moving the original in the reverse direction before its copying operation, and detecting a state of the original. CONSTITUTION:When an original placing plate 102 is moved in the left direction, a charger 108, a destaticizing device 108, a developing device 110, etc. are set to a non-operating state so that an original image does not appear on a photosensitive drum 105, and when the original placing plate 102 is moved in the right direction, copying is executed. It is executed in order that a short focus lens array 104 transmits an erect real image. The quantity of light of a lamp 103 in case of a copying operation is controlled by utilizing a motion of the original placing plate 102 in the left direction, and detecting a state of an original on the original placing plate 102 by a photodetector 117 provided in the vicinity of the array 104 and opposed to the original surface. |
