PURPOSE:To obtain a strong vertical magnetizing force by providing anti- magnetic substance in a gap of a vertical magnetic recording head causing a magnetic field from the gap to apply vertical magnetic recording in a magnetic recording medium. CONSTITUTION:In causing an N pole at one tip 2a of a magnetic core 2 having a magnetic gap G and causing an S pole to the other tip 2b at a point of time at recording, the anti-magnetic substance 4 is magnetized in a direction opposite to the magnetic field generated in the magnetic gap G, and N pole is produced at an end opposed to the tip 2a of the magnetic core 2 and an S pole is produced at the end opposed to the tip 2b, resulting that the same poles are produced at each opposed part. The magnetic line of force going from the tip 2a to the tip 2b of the magnetic core 2 does not go straight in the magnetic gap G but is bent toward the magnetic recording medium 5 so as to bypass the anti-magnetic substance 4 by the repulsion of the same poles. Thus, the component of the generated magnetic field perpendicular to the recording face of the magnetic recording medium 5 is increased and a strong vertical magnetizing force is obtained. |
