PURPOSE:To input KANA (Japanese syllabary) characters with a conventinal number of keys, by dividing KANA characters into several groups corresponding to specific alphabet keys, and performing switching between an alphabet and a KANA input mode. CONSTITUTION:Kana characters are grouped in several corresponding to alphabet keys A, K, S, T, N, H, M, Y, R, W, G, Z, D, B, and P. With a mode selection switch 1, an alphabet input mode and a KANA character input mode are switched. An alphabet mode corresponding to some KANA character group is operated together with said switch 1 to successively display KANA characters in the KANA character group corresponding to a search key 6. On the basis of a current displayed input indication, the KANA characters on the display are inputted. |
