<p>Display support for portions of foodstuffs packed in sachets of flexible, transparent non-toxic film which is thermoplastic comprises a strip of material covered with a layer of thermo-plastic film to which pack bodies may be attached by localised weld spots. A series of partially overlapping packs, e.g. popcorn or crisps may be supported by contact welds near their upper edges. Packs can be mounted more quickly, using relatively simple equipment, then on to supports requiring one or two segments of the pack to be tucked into notches or slots in the support strip. Opt. the sachets are made from tubular film e.g. polyethylene, filled and transversely sealed at suitable intervals. The support may be of cardboard covered with film of similar material to that of the pack.</p> |
