PURPOSE:To reduce the storage space for characters by using a microfilm which stores information on good conditions, and then reading and converting the information on the film into an electric signal through an optical reader and extracting characters through a character deciding circuit on the basis of the electric signal. CONSTITUTION:A microfilm 1 which stores information on good conditions is used, and character information on the film 1 is read and converted into an electric signal by an optical character reader 2 to be supplied to a character deciding circuit 3. This deviding circuit 3 discriminates between a character space and characters, and inputs the characters to a collating circuit 5. An indication from the circuit 3 is inptted to a standard character dictionary 4 to input standard characters to the collating circuit 5 successively according to the indication. The collating circuit 5 compares characters of the deciding circuit 3 with those in the character dictionary 4 successively to output collated characters, reducing the storage space for characters. |
