<p>PURPOSE:To enable noiseless idling, by providing a spring between a first and a second driven gears to shift the phases of their teeth to eliminate backlash between a driving gear and the driven gears. CONSTITUTION:In a clutch, an outer clutch member 1 fitted with driven gears 3 engaged with a driving gear 2 coupled to an engine and an inner clutch member 16 coupled to a transmission are connected to each other through clutch plates 23 so that the inner and the outer clutch members can be disconnected from each other. A spring 121 is provided between the first and the second gears 31, 32. Since the spring 121 exerts such an elastic force to shift the phases of the teeth of the gears 31, 32, the teeth pinch those of the driving gear 2 at their engaged portions to eliminate backlash. As a result, no backlash noise is caused even if the torque of the engine fluctuates in idling.</p> |
