PURPOSE:To automatically copy the surface and the reverse side of a both surface original, by providing a means for moving again the original which has been exposed, and a controlling circuit for controlling the sequence of a feeding means and a moving means, etc. CONSTITUTION:An original placing surface of a copying machine of an optical and moving system and an auto repeat duplex feeder are constituted as one body, and the whole original placing plate containing the auto repeat duplex feeder is moved by a specified distance, by which both functions are switched. On the right end of an original placing plate 31, the auto repeat duplex feeder is provided, and the whole original placing plate 31 is moved to a position where the auto repeat duplex feeder is used, from a position where an original placing plate fixing system for copying a thick original.
