<p>PURPOSE:To minimize loss of air in a compressed air utilizing drain discharging apparatus, by opening a pair of poppet valves alternatively by a cam for communicating a drain collecting chamber selectively with an inlet port or an outlet port of the drain discharging apparatus. CONSTITUTION:When the crown 51 of a cam is engaged with a valve rod 82 of a poppet valve 8 and a valve port 22 is opened resultantly, compressed air and drain are introduced into a drain collecting chamber 20 from an inlet port 21. Subsequently, when the cam crown 51 is brought into engagement with a valve rod 82 of a poppet valve 8a by turning a cam shaft 5 180 deg. by a motor 7 with speed reducing gears, the valve rod 82 of the poppet valve 8 is held in contact with a bottom 52 of the cam, so that a valve port 24 is opened but the valve port 22 is closed. Thus, only the compressed air and drain collected in the chamber 20 are discharged from an outlet port 23. On the other hand, when the motor 7 is rendered inoperable due to interruption of power supply or by other reason or when it is required to discharge drain in the pipe connected to the inlet port 21 together with drain collected in the chamber 20, both of the two poppet valves 8, 8a are opened simultaneously by depressing the upper end of the cam shaft 5 manually.</p> |
