PURPOSE:To obtain coated paper with high resolving power and little fog by coating paper with polyolefin resin contg. TiO2 pigment particles coated with di-, tri- or tetrahydric alcohol by melt extrusion and by subjecting the surface of the coated paper to corona discharge treatment or flame treatment. CONSTITUTION:TiO2 pigment with <=0.8wt% loss on heating at 300 deg.C for 23hr is mixed with di-, tri- or tetrahydric alcohol such as trimethylolethane and pulverized to obtain TiO2 pigment coated with about 0.01-10wt% alcohol. The coated pigment is added to polyolefin resin by 1-40wt%, and paper for photographic printing paper is coated with the resin by melt extrusion in about 5- 200mum thickness. The surface of the coated paper is then subjected to corona discharge treatment or flame treatment. Thus, coated paper with high resolving power, little fog and superior adhesive strength to a photographic emulsion layer is obtd. |
