PURPOSE:To make it possible to readily carry out locking and unlocking operations of the locking device nullifying the deviation force of a tensioner upon assembling the timing chain, tensioner and the like into the engine, and to make the unlocking confirmable from the outside. CONSTITUTION:A tensioner T provided in the engine in which the rotation of a crank-shaft 1 is transmitted from a driving sprocket 11 to control cam shafts 5 and 6 through a timing chain 15, and from the driving sproket 11 through the timing chain 15 and the driven sprockets 13 and 14, is provided with a main tensioner body 16 arranged at the outside of the loose side of the chain 15 and curved in an arch shape. This main body 16 is actuated toward the side of the chain 15 around a fixed end 17 through a swinging arm 21 by a spring force of a tensioner spring 28. In this case, pin holes 29 and 30 capable of mutually coinciding with the swinging arm 21 and a support frame F pivotally supporting the same, are formed thereon, whereby the deviating force of the tensioner T can be made nullified upon fitting a lock pin P into pin holes 29 and 30. |
